Choosing a body sculpting procedure can be difficult, especially when all signs point to liposuction. Well, it is important to note that lipo is usually a starter procedure that can be easily paired with other surgical options to give you the nip and tuck you need!
Choosing a surgical procedure for body contouring may merely lift the excess skin to tighten the area and give you a more youthful contour, without removing fat from the treated zone. However, combining these popular procedures with liposuction can give you the contour and shape you have always dreamed of. Here are our favorite surgical procedures and combos for giving your body a full on makeover:
Arm & Thigh Lift
Most of us carry our fat in localized places. It is quite common for someone, especially women, to carry excess weight in both the arms and thighs, while managing to keep a flat tummy. For these patients, we often recommend a combination arm and thigh lift.
These procedures work in similar ways. Because with time and age the skin in the legs and arms sag and may cause cellulite, an arm and thigh lift remove excess skin to tighten it around the limb and leave you smooth and taught. However, for patients with excess fat stored in these areas, it may be beneficial to include liposuction with these procedures.
When you combine an arm lift with a thigh lift, you give your body a complete re-contour that you can feel great about.
Tummy Tuck + Lipo
The most popular surgical combination for full-body contouring is tummy tuck and liposuction. The majority of the population stores excess fat in the lower belly, and this is extremely difficult to lose especially toward the end of a weight loss journey. Liposuction allows you to remove all of the excess fat holding you back from enjoying your figure, while the subsequent tummy tuck will remove the skin that is no longer needed and give you the hourglass shape you have always wanted.
When you choose a tummy tuck, your abdominal region will be reshaped to a flattering figure. This procedure has one of the most strenuous recovery times but also the most rewarding results.
Gastric bypass surgery is a true full body procedure, as it does not remove localized fat, but acts to essentially split the stomach, allowing it only a small functional volume for holding food. This shrinking of the stomach prevents patients from being able to overeat, therefore helping them lose weight in a more natural way. The body will then begin to lose fat on its own.
Benefits of gastric bypass include the ability to form new eating habits and lose fat by your body’s own accord rather than by surgery. However, this weight loss takes a bit longer and does not choose where the fat is lost.
