Tummy Tuck San Diego, Del Mar, Vista & Temecula
With weight gain of any type comes the possibility that a person will develop a protruding abdomen, a result of weak abdominal muscles and excess abdominal skin. The tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure corrects this problem by removing excess skin and fat, tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall, and rectifying the umbilicus (navel or belly button). Dr. Batra and Dr. Camberos have extensive experience performing San Diego Tummy Tuck procedures. They are renowned throughout Southern California for their expertise in creating flat, slim abdominal contours. They also perform Tummy Tuck repair procedures.
San Diego Tummy Tuck Candidates:
Frequently, excess abdominal tissue is a result of the substantial weight gain and weight loss experienced during pregnancy. In certain San Diego Body Contouring cases, Dr. Batra and Dr. Camberos might perform tummy tuck in conjunction with breast augmentation or breast lift. This procedure combination is known as a “Mommy Makeover.”

Tummy Tuck Case Study 1
This 38-year-old patient had lost over 80 pounds after two pregnancies. She became frustrated with exercising and not seeing any improvement in her skin quality. Due to the significant weight loss and overlying skin, she began developing rashes under the skin of the lower abdomen. She underwent an abdominoplasty and liposuction of the inner and outer thigh areas. These photographs depict pre-operative views, as well as six months post-operative. As you can see, her belly button looks very natural. In addition, her thigh contour is much improved. One of the keys to abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is to have a very natural-looking belly button. In addition, fixing the muscles at the time of the surgery will flatten the abdominal wall to where it may have been prior to pregnancy and weight loss. Overall, this patient has a very nice outcome. The recovery time for her surgery was only approximately two weeks.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 2
This 31-year-old patient had two pregnancies, as well as the loss of breast volume. She desired to return to her pre-pregnancy condition and opted to undergo a Mommy Makeover. These photographs show her pre-operative and post-operative photographs taken approximately six months after surgery. The patient opted to have fairly large implants placed, with 450cc high-profile gel implant. She did not require a lift. As you can see, she has a very nice cleavage, as well as upper pole fullness. In addition, all of her stretch marks are gone from the abdominoplasty. The incision lies nicely in the bikini line and is not visible when wearing a two-piece bathing suit. Additionally, her belly button looks very natural and, overall, the patient is very happy with her outcome.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 3
This 54-year-old was very frustrated with having a “pooch” in her lower abdomen, despite doing “hundreds of sit-ups” and exercises. This photograph shows her pre-operative and approximately six months post-operative. As you can see, her scar is well hidden in the bikini line and her belly button appears very natural. On the side view, it is obvious that the patient’s muscles are repaired. She appears nice and flat. Overall, she is very happy with her outcome and is back into her full exercise routine.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 4
This patient underwent a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. Overall, this procedure takes approximately three hours to complete. As you can see in the post-operative outcome, she has a very natural-looking belly button. She also has very nicely proportioned breasts for her body. A 300cc high-profile cohesive gel implant was used under the muscle for her augmentation. Overall, this patient is very happy with her outcome.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 5
This 38-year-old, African-American woman desired to have stretch marks and extra skin removed from her abdominal wall. She was also concerned about the “poochiness” of her abdomen. These photographs show her pre-operatively and approximately six months after surgery. As you can see, once again, her belly button looks very natural. As discussed previously, the belly button is one of the keys to this procedure. If the belly button does not look nice, the remainder of the surgery suffers. In addition, on side profile, you can see that fixing her muscles flattened her abdominal wall. This patient also underwent liposuction of her back and bra bulge area, as well as at the medial and lateral thighs to balance her body better. Overall, she is very happy with her outcome.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 9
This 59-year-old woman was in good shape, but still had some “pooching” of the lower abdominal wall after going through three pregnancies. This photograph shows the markings for the abdominoplasty and all of the tissue that was removed from the belly button down to her pubic region. On the side profile photo, it is obvious that she has nice outcome from the muscles repair and the belly button looks very natural. This patient is a massage therapist and was back to work within two weeks. She ended up having what is called a High Lateral Tension Abdominoplasty. Her incisions are placed in a more V-shaped configuration to match the type of undergarment that she wears.
Tummy Tuck Case Study 10
This 44-year-old woman had a lot of loose skin and abdominal fat after multiple pregnancies. She desired to appear as she did prior to pregnancy. We opted to perform what is called an Extended Abdominoplasty to take the incision around the sides to get rid of the, “muffin top” appearance. Once again, this patient has an excellent result. As you can see in her post-operative photograph, the patient’s belly button is slightly off to the left. Overall, approximately 15% of patients will have a belly button that is not midline and this is a good example of a patient whose belly button was slightly off center. Nonetheless, she has an excellent result and natural-looking belly button. She went on to lose another 15 pounds after the surgery because she was so happy with her outcome and motivated to exercise.
